Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Does a lockable lid make a barrier unnecessary?

It depends on the state and the spa. In some cases a compliant lockable cover is acceptable, in others a full barrier is required. This is exactly what the inspection determines, do not rely on the retailer's word.

Do inflatable or portable spas count?

If it can hold more than 300mm of water, barrier requirements generally apply regardless of whether it is portable.

Is a swim spa a pool or a spa?

For barrier purposes it is treated like a pool. The same inspection and certificate process applies.

What does a spa inspection cost?

The same fixed $350 inspection and certificate fee applies, confirmed before we book.
